Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated 100 µl preparation, this polyclonal EGFR antibody supports western blot and ELISA detection of the epidermal growth factor receptor across human, mouse, and rat samples. EGFR is a 170 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein with intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity that couples ligand binding to RAS-MAPK and PI3K-AKT cascades, making its expression and phosphorylation status key readouts in cancer signaling research, receptor internalization studies, and tissue-based biomarker work. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes, which helps maintain signal on partially degraded receptor fragments and reduces the impact of single-residue mutations that disrupt monoclonal binding. For western blot, the reagent resolves the full-length receptor near 170 kDa; for ELISA, it can be paired as capture or detection reagent depending on plate orientation. To preserve activity, store at -20°C, aliquot after first thaw, and limit freeze-thaw cycles.
