Anti-EGFR (3F12) Antibody

Supplied through AFMS as part of their Antibodies.com distribution catalogue, this reagent is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against the human EGF Receptor (EGFR), raised using the 3F12 clone and presented in an unconjugated, purified format. According to the underlying Bioworld specification sheet that Antibodies.com uses for this SKU, the product is supplied as50 µl of purified mouse IgG monoclonal in a buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, with a reported concentration of 1 mg/ml. The clone was raised against purified recombinant human EGFR protein fragments expressed in E. coli and is validated for Western blotting (typical dilution 1:500–1:1000), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (1:50–1:200), immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (1:800 with citrate-buffer antigen retrieval by pressure cooking), and immunoprecipitation (1:20–1:50). It reacts with human EGFR (Swiss-Prot P00533) and shows the predicted band at ~134 kDa with an observed band near175 kDa in HCC827, A549 and MDA-MB-468 lysates, and is reported not to cross-react with related ErbB family proteins. For research use only, the antibody should be stored short term at 4 °C and aliquoted for long-term storage at –20 °C, with repeated freeze-thaw cycles avoided.
