The S-177 clone is a mouse IgG1 monoclonal raised against human Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 ug lyophilised preparation intended for research use only. EGF is a small polypeptide mitogen that drives proliferation, migration and survival through binding of the ErbB1/EGFR receptor tyrosine kinase, and altered EGF signalling is a recurring theme in tumour biology, mucosal repair and tissue-regeneration studies.

This unconjugated reagent recognises the mature human EGF peptide and is validated for ELISA-based quantification in cell-culture supernatants and recombinant-protein workflows. Researchers investigating autocrine and paracrine growth-factor loops, EGFR pathway activation, wound-healing models and oncology screens commonly use S-177 as a capture or detection reagent. Lyophilised aliquots are stable on arrival and should be reconstituted in PBS or equivalent buffer to working concentration; for long-term storage, keep reconstituted material frozen in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles.

Reactivity is restricted to human EGF, host species is mouse, and the antibody is provided unconjugated so it can be paired with an appropriate labelled secondary for downstream immunoassay formats beyond ELISA.
