EF-2 is a ~95 kDa GTP-binding protein that catalyzes ribosomal translocation during protein synthesis and is regulated through inhibitory phosphorylation at Thr56 by eEF2 kinase. This modification is a well-studied readout for translational control under mTOR signaling, nutrient stress, and synaptic activity, making the antibody a useful tool for cancer biology, neurodegeneration, and plasticity research.
