Anti-EEF2 Antibody

This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com binds eukaryotic translation elongation factor 2 (EEF2), the ~95 kDa GTPase that drives ribosomal translocation during protein synthesis. Raised in rabbit, the antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, in a 100 µl vial.

The antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting western blot detection of endogenous EEF2 in cell lysates, immunohistochemical staining of fixed tissue sections, and immunofluorescence labeling of cultured cells. Its unconjugated format lets users pair it with their own secondary antibody or label of choice.

EEF2 is a housekeeping translational regulator, so this reagent is often used to verify equal protein loading alongside phospho-EEF2 (Thr56) studies of mTOR and AMPK signaling. Store at -20°C in aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light; the glycerol and azide formulation keeps the antibody stable for routine lab handling.
