EEF1B2 (Eukaryotic Translation Elongation Factor 1 Beta 2) is a ~24 kDa catalytic subunit of the eEF1B complex, where it serves as the guanine nucleotide exchange factor that recycles eEF1A·GDP back to its active GTP-bound state during translation elongation. Because EEF1B2 is expressed at high, relatively invariant levels across most tissues and cultured cell lines, antibodies raised against it are frequently used as loading controls alongside the protein of interest on Western blots.

The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative, at approximately pH 7.2. It has been validated for Western blot (WB) detection on samples from human, mouse, and rat, giving the reagent cross-species coverage typical of a polyclonal reagent raised against a highly conserved housekeeping translation factor.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, provided in liquid format ready to dilute into standard blocking buffer for chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection. Sodium azide is included as a preservative at 0.05%, so the reagent should not be used in live-cell applications or added directly to cell culture media without prior removal by dialysis or gel filtration. Store refrigerated short term, and for longer storage aliquot the antibody to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
