Raised in rabbit against human EED (Embryonic Ectoderm Development protein), this polyclonal reagent recognizes a core WD40-repeat subunit of Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2). PRC2 catalyzes trimethylation of histone H3 on lysine 27 (H3K27me3), the repressive chromatin mark that maintains X-inactivation, genomic imprinting, pluripotency, and lineage-restricted gene silencing during embryonic development.

Heterozygous missense mutations that destabilize EED folding are the established cause of Weaver syndrome, an overgrowth and intellectual disability disorder, while elevated EED expression has been documented in prostate adenocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. These links make the antibody a relevant tool for chromatin biology, developmental genetics, and cancer epigenetics research.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated 100 µl vial of liquid antiserum, the antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry across human, mouse, and rat samples. Published applications with similar EED polyclonals include co-immunoprecipitation of PRC2 components (EZH2, SUZ12, RBBP4) from nuclear extracts, chromatin immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescent detection of nuclear Polycomb bodies.

For handling, aliquot upon arrival and store at -20 °C in single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycles; protect from light. Refer to the enclosed datasheet for lot-specific concentration and recommended starting dilutions for western blot or IHC workflows.
