This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the Ectodysplasin A Receptor (EDAR), a type I transmembrane protein of the TNF receptor superfamily that transduces signaling from the EDA-A1 ligand through NF-κB and JNK pathways. EDAR plays a central role in the embryonic development of ectodermal appendages, including hair follicles, teeth, and sweat glands, and loss-of-function mutations in the encoding gene are a well-established cause of hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia.

The reagent is raised in rabbit (isotype IgG) and is supplied unconjugated at 50 µl per vial, intended for Western blot detection of human EDAR. Investigators in developmental biology, dermatology, dental research, and evolutionary genetics use anti-EDAR antibodies to probe cell and tissue lysates and to map receptor expression across ectodermal placodes and adjacent mesenchymal tissues.

For handling, the antibody should be stored at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and standard WB protocols typically apply the diluted primary antibody overnight at 4 °C followed by an HRP-conjugated secondary reagent for chemiluminescent visualization of the receptor band.
