This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against Enhanced Blue Fluorescent Protein (EBFP), a blue-shifted variant of GFP commonly used as a fluorescent reporter in molecular and cell biology research. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum and is validated for Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunoprecipitation (IP) workflows.

The antibody supports researchers tracking EBFP or EBFP-tagged fusion proteins expressed in transfected cells, transgenic tissues, or in vitro expression systems. Because the polyclonal response targets multiple epitopes across the EBFP protein, the reagent enables detection of low-abundance reporter expression and capture of EBFP fusion constructs via IP. In IF and IHC applications it allows direct visualization of cells or tissues expressing the blue reporter, including co-localization experiments when paired with red and green fluorophore-conjugated antibodies in multiplex imaging.

For immunoprecipitation, the antiserum is incubated with EBFP-expressing lysates under standard lysis and wash conditions to pull down the target before SDS-PAGE analysis and Western blot detection. In immunohistochemistry on fixed sections, the reagent produces cytoplasmic and nuclear staining patterns consistent with reporter distribution when used with standard antigen retrieval protocols. As an unconjugated primary antibody, it gives laboratories flexibility to pair with HRP, biotin, Alexa Fluor, or other secondary reagents matched to their detection platform. Storage and handling recommendations follow Antibodies.com's standard polyclonal antibody protocols; the antibody is intended for research use only.
