EBAG9 (Estrogen Receptor Binding Site Associated, Antigen 9), also referred to as RCAS1, is a type II transmembrane protein originally identified as an estrogen-receptor-regulated transcript. Subsequent work linked EBAG9 to tumor immune modulation: the shed extracellular domain has been reported to induce apoptosis of activated lymphocytes, and elevated expression has been documented in breast, ovarian, pancreatic, gastric, and colorectal carcinomas relative to matched normal tissue.

The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody to EBAG9 is raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated, in a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. This buffer composition supports standard antibody storage at -20 °C with limited freeze-thaw exposure, and the glycerol content keeps the immunoglobulin in solution at working-bench temperatures. The reagent has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and the supplier reports reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies across species and tissue types.

The polyclonal format allows the reagent to recognize multiple epitopes on EBAG9, which is useful when probing both denatured lysates in WB and fixed tissue sections in IHC. For immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded material, antigen retrieval is generally required, and working concentrations should be titrated empirically against positive and negative control tissues. Researchers investigating estrogen-responsive tumors, cancer immune evasion pathways, and RCAS1/EBAG9 biology in model systems such as xenografts or knockout mice will find the cross-species reactivity profile of this antibody particularly useful.
