Anti-Dynactin 2 Antibody

Produced by Antibodies.com as part of its Primary Antibodies portfolio, this rabbit polyclonal reagent specifically recognizes Dynactin 2 (DCTN2), the 50 kDa subunit of the dynactin complex that links cytoplasmic dynein to its membranous cargo and to mitotic kinetochores. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid antiserum in a single vial, sufficient for multiple western blot and immunohistochemistry runs depending on dilution.

Recommended applications include western blot analysis of cell lysates, immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, and ELISA. The reagent has been validated against human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful for cross-species studies of intracellular transport, mitotic spindle dynamics, and neurodegenerative disease models in which dynein/dynactin function is implicated. As a polyclonal reagent, it recognizes several epitopes on DCTN2, an advantage when probing the native complex together with associated dynactin subunits (p150Glued, p62, Arp1) or with dynein intermediate and light intermediate chains.

Storage and handling: keep the vial refrigerated for routine use and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity. Brief centrifugation before opening collects liquid at the base of the tube and minimizes foam. Dilute into a BSA-containing buffer for working stocks, and titrate against a positive control lysate such as HeLa or NIH/3T3 to establish optimal signal-to-noise for each application.
