Anti-Dynactin 2 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the dynactin 2 (DCTN2) subunit, this polyclonal antibody targets a ~50 kDa component of the dynactin complex that activates cytoplasmic dynein and tethers cargo for retrograde microtubule-based transport. Supplied unconjugated by Antibodies.com, it recognizes the target in human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

The reagent ships as 50 µl of a 1 mg/ml solution in phosphate-buffered saline at approximately pH 7.2, containing 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative. For handling, refrigerate at 4 °C and protect from light; small aliquots may be stored frozen at -20 °C to extend shelf life, but repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. Suggested starting dilutions fall in the 1:500–1:2000 range for Western blot and 1:100–1:400 for IHC and IF, with empirical titration recommended per application.

Because dynactin 2 supports mitotic spindle organization, neuronal vesicle movement, and organelle positioning along microtubules, the antibody is useful for research on intracellular trafficking, cell division, and dynein-driven transport in cell culture and in vivo models.
