dTMP kinase catalyzes the phosphorylation of deoxythymidine monophosphate (dTMP) to dTDP within the thymidine salvage pathway. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com, supplied as a 100 µL aliquot of rabbit antiserum, is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows on human samples.
Encoded by the DTYMK gene (historically CDC8), dTMP kinase is essential for both de novo and salvage synthesis of dTTP, the sole precursor for thymine incorporation during DNA replication. Enzyme expression is frequently elevated in rapidly proliferating cells and in several tumor types, which is why the protein is studied in nucleotide metabolism, DNA replication, and cell-cycle research.
The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve signal detection across different sample preparations. Because the preparation is unconjugated, researchers can pair the reagent with their preferred reporter or secondary detection system. The 100 µL volume supports multiple experimental setups in cell-line and tissue-based assays.
