DROSHA is a nuclear class 2 ribonuclease III enzyme that initiates the first cleavage step of the canonical microRNA biogenesis pathway, converting primary miRNA transcripts into precursor hairpins that are then exported to the cytoplasm. This rabbit polyclonal IgG from Antibodies.com is raised against the human DROSHA protein and detects an endogenous band near the expected ~160 kDa molecular weight by Western blot across human, mouse, and rat lysates. The reagent is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, packaged as a 100 µl vial, and is intended for research use only in standard immunoblotting workflows using HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents. DROSHA levels are commonly monitored in studies of miRNA processing, pluripotent stem-cell self-renewal, and the DNA damage response, where altered expression reflects changes in pri-miRNA-to-pre-miRNA conversion efficiency. For routine handling, store the vial at 4 °C; for longer-term storage, aliquot the antibody and freeze at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity.
