DNA Ligase IV is an ATP-dependent ligase that catalyzes the joining of DNA strand breaks during non-homologous end joining (NHEJ), the dominant pathway for repairing double-strand breaks in mammalian cells. The enzyme acts in complex with XRCC4, XLF, and the Ku70/80 heterodimer, and it is required for V(D)J recombination and class switch recombination in lymphocytes, as well as for the maintenance of genome stability after ionizing radiation exposure. The rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the human DNA Ligase IV protein and is validated for detection by western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA on human samples.

Supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 100 µl vial, this primary antibody is suited to studies of DNA damage response, telomere maintenance, radiosensitivity, and rare immunodeficiency syndromes linked to LIG4 mutations. Typical experimental readouts include tracking of protein expression levels, subcellular localization patterns, and recruitment of DNA Ligase IV to nuclear damage foci marked by γH2AX. For research use only.
