Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal antiserum from Antibodies.com, this rabbit host reagent detects the DMRT3 transcription factor in human and mouse samples and is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.

DMRT3 (Doublesex and Mab-3 Related Transcription Factor 3) sits at the intersection of neurobiology and reproductive biology. In the spinal cord, DMRT3 defines a population of commissural interneurons in the ventral horn that govern left-right limb coordination during locomotion. A premature stop codon in equine DMRT3 was mapped as the causal variant behind alternate gaits in horses, and the corresponding mouse model confirmed that loss of DMRT3 disrupts normal stride timing without abolishing movement. Parallel work has documented DMRT3 expression in the developing gonad and in postnatal testis, where it supports male germ cell differentiation and the maintenance of spermatogonia.

The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage across the target, an advantage when probing low-abundance transcription factor targets in fixed tissue sections or in crude whole-cell lysates. Common uses include mapping DMRT3-positive interneurons in mouse spinal cord sections by immunohistochemistry, tracking DMRT3 protein levels during embryonic gonadal development by western blot, and characterizing expression changes in models of locomotor or reproductive dysfunction.
