Raised in rabbit against dihydrolipoamide S-acetyltransferase (DLAT), this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied unconjugated and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples. DLAT — also known as PDC-E2 — is the catalytic E2 core of the mitochondrial pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, the multi-enzyme assembly that decarboxylates pyruvate to acetyl-CoA and links glycolysis to the citric acid cycle. Researchers use anti-DLAT reagents to probe mitochondrial oxidative metabolism, PDC subunit composition, and metabolic reprogramming in cancer, neurodegeneration, and cardiac hypertrophy studies, while in clinical autoimmunity research DLAT is a well-characterized autoantigen in primary biliary cholangitis. Each vial contains 50 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol; aliquot and store frozen to preserve activity, or refrigerated for short-term use, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes across the full-length DLAT sequence, supporting robust detection of endogenous protein by Western blot and clear localization of PDC-E2 in fixed tissue sections by immunohistochemistry.
