This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against DJ-1 (also known as PARK7), a conserved protein best characterized as an oxidative stress sensor and mitochondrial protectant. Loss-of-function mutations in the PARK7 gene cause autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson's disease, and DJ-1 has been studied extensively in neurobiology, redox biology, and cancer research for its chaperone-like, deglycase, and transcriptional co-activator activities.

Supplied as a 100 µl vial of unconjugated antiserum, the reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat tissues and cell lines, supporting cross-species experimental design. Polyclonal reactivity broadens epitope coverage, which helps when tracking endogenous DJ-1 in tissue sections, cultured cell lines, and subcellular fractions where post-translational modifications such as cysteine oxidation at Cys106 can mask individual epitopes.

Recommended uses include monitoring DJ-1 expression and redox-dependent localization in dopaminergic neurons, characterizing stress-response pathways, and confirming knockdown or overexpression phenotypes in cell-based assays. For long-term use, store refrigerated in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
