Raised in rabbit, this polyclonal IgG reagent targets DISC1 (Disrupted in Schizophrenia 1), a multifunctional scaffold protein expressed in the central nervous system. DISC1 is best known for its role in neuronal migration, neurite outgrowth, centrosomal function, and the assembly of signaling complexes that include PDE4, NDE1, NDEL1, and ATF4/5, and rare DISC1 translocations have been repeatedly associated with major psychiatric illness, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder in family-based genetic studies.

The antibody is unconjugated and supplied as 100 µl of liquid, giving laboratories freedom to pair it with secondary reporters of their choice or to run it directly in standard chromogenic and chemiluminescent workflows. It is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry and has been confirmed to react with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative work across cell lines, rodent models, and post-mortem tissue. Researchers studying neurogenesis, cortical development, axon guidance, or schizophrenia-associated signaling pathways can use this reagent to map DISC1 distribution in fixed sections and to verify expression changes in experimental models.

Antibodies.com provides this polyclonal DISC1 antibody as part of its Primary Antibodies range, intended for research use in neuroscience, cell biology, and psychiatry research laboratories.
