This Anti-Dis3 Antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal IgG preparation validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) applications. Dis3 (also called Rrp44) is the catalytic subunit of the RNA exosome complex, providing both endoribonuclease and processive 3' to 5' exoribonuclease activity for ribosomal RNA processing and nuclear RNA surveillance. In Schizosaccharomyces pombe, Dis3 is essential for proper mitotic chromosome segregation and rRNA maturation, making this reagent particularly relevant for studies of RNA turnover, ribosome biogenesis, and cell cycle control in fission yeast. The antibody is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot of unconjugated antiserum, ready for direct use in standard immunoblotting and immunostaining protocols. We recommend aliquoting upon first use and storing at -20°C to preserve activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles; avoid repeated cycling. Fission-yeast-specific reactivity ensures minimal cross-reactivity in heterologous yeast lysates, supporting clean detection of endogenous Dis3 in fission yeast extracts and fixed cells.
