Anti-Dis2 Antibody

The Anti-Dis2 Antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against the Schizosaccharomyces pombe type-1 protein phosphatase catalytic subunit encoded by the dis2 gene. Dis2 (also called PP1^Dis2) is a key regulator of mitotic progression, where it counteracts Cdc2 kinase activity and is required for proper chromosome disjunction at the metaphase-to-anaphase transition; loss-of-function dis2 mutants were originally isolated on the basis of this chromosome segregation defect.

This unconjugated IgG antibody is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot and has been validated for western blot (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) of endogenous Dis2 from fission yeast whole-cell extracts. It is intended for research use only, providing a reliable tool for studying PP1-dependent dephosphorylation events, cell cycle checkpoints, and chromosome segregation in S. pombe.

For best results, store the antibody at -20 °C in small working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve titre. Brief centrifugation before use is recommended to recover the full volume from the vial.
