DHFR (Dihydrofolate Reductase) is a ~21 kDa cytoplasmic enzyme that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate, a one-carbon donor required for thymidylate and purine biosynthesis. Antibodies.com provides this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody for researchers probing folate pathway activity, antifolate pharmacology, and methotrexate resistance mechanisms in oncology and cell biology studies.
Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal serum, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. In WB, it detects the endogenous DHFR band in whole-cell and tissue lysates; in IHC, it is used on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections to localize DHFR expression across tumor and normal tissue specimens.
Reactivity is confirmed for Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative work between patient-derived material and standard rodent models. The unconjugated format leaves detection label choice to the user, accommodating HRP, biotin, or fluorophore secondary reagents in routine immunostaining pipelines.
