Anti-DHFR Antibody

Raised in rabbit and validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR), a folate-pathway enzyme used widely as a transfection and selection marker in mammalian cell biology.

DHFR catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate, the one-carbon donor required for purine and thymidylate biosynthesis. The protein is also studied in the context of antifolate drug response and methotrexate resistance research.

The antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies across species in cell lysates, tissue sections, and recombinant expression systems. It is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Each vial contains 100 µl of liquid preparation. For short-term storage, keep refrigerated at 4°C; for longer-term stability, aliquot and store frozen at -20°C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Sodium azide is included as a microbial preservative.
