This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets DHCR24 (24-dehydrocholesterol reductase), the endoplasmic reticulum-resident enzyme that catalyzes the final reduction step in the Bloch and Kandutsch-Russell cholesterol biosynthesis pathways. Raised in rabbit, the unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of ready-to-use or titratable stock and is validated for Western Blot (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows against human and mouse samples.

DHCR24, also known as seladin-1, is widely studied for its dual role in lipid metabolism and cellular stress responses: it helps maintain cholesterol homeostasis in steroidogenic and neural tissues and has been linked to oxidative-stress defense and anti-apoptotic signaling in neurodegeneration, vascular biology, and oncogenesis research. The reagent therefore supports investigations into cholesterol biosynthesis, ER-membrane enzymology, Alzheimer's disease models, glioblastoma and prostate cancer pathways, and oxidative-stress mechanisms.

Provided as a 100 µl aliquot of rabbit polyclonal serum, the antibody should be handled according to standard practice: aliquot upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store refrigerated, and protect from light. Use with appropriate secondary antibodies for WB and IHC detection; for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
