Produced in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this Antibodies.com primary antibody recognizes DEAD-box helicase 55 (DDX55), an ATP-dependent RNA helicase that localizes to the nucleolus and contributes to ribosomal RNA processing and ribosome biogenesis. Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA applications, the antibody reacts with both human and mouse samples and is supplied as 100 µl per vial for research use only.

DDX55 is a member of the conserved DEAD-box family of RNA helicases, enzymes that couple ATP hydrolysis to remodeling of RNA secondary structure during early ribosome assembly. Because the protein concentrates in the nucleolar compartment, immunohistochemistry on tissue sections can be used to map nucleolar staining patterns, while Western blot of whole-cell lysates reveals the expected band and helps confirm expression changes across cell culture conditions. The unconjugated format gives laboratories freedom to choose their own HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents matched to their preferred detection chemistry.

For best results, store the vial at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity across multiple experiments. Brief centrifugation before opening recovers the full volume from the tube, and the reagent should be handled using standard cold-chain practice to keep the polyclonal preparation stable over time.
