Anti-DDAH2 Antibody

Polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit against human Dimethylarginine Dimethylaminohydrolase 2 (DDAH2), supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl liquid aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

DDAH2 is a cytoplasmic enzyme that hydrolyzes asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), a competitive endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide synthases. It is broadly expressed in vascular endothelium, kidney, liver, and immune cell populations, where it supports nitric oxide bioavailability and vascular homeostasis. Altered DDAH2 expression has been linked to endothelial dysfunction, hypertension, sepsis, and chronic kidney disease in published studies.

This unconjugated reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples. Investigators use it to map ADMA-metabolizing activity in tissue sections, track DDAH2 protein levels across disease models, and probe cross-talk between methylarginine metabolism and nitric oxide signaling pathways.

For handling, store at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the 50% glycerol cryoprotectant preserves antibody integrity during frozen storage. The buffer contains 0.1% sodium azide as a microbial preservative.
