The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent targets DCXR, a cytosolic short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase (~25 kDa) that detoxifies reactive dicarbonyl intermediates such as methylglyoxal and 3-deoxyglucosone. Because these alpha-oxoaldehydes drive advanced glycation end-product formation, researchers working on hyperglycemia, oxidative stress, and diabetic nephropathy rely on this reagent to track DCXR expression across tissues.
Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit, the antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse samples, supporting studies of renal cortex, hepatic metabolism, and tumor microenvironments where DCXR has been investigated, including clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The polyclonal format improves recognition of the native enzyme across multiple epitopes, while the unconjugated state lets users pair it with their preferred secondary reporter for immunofluorescence, chromogenic IHC, or chemiluminescent Western workflows.
