Anti-DCX Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets Doublecortin (DCX), a microtubule-associated phosphoprotein expressed in immature and migrating neurons during central nervous system development. This unconjugated reagent is supplied as a 100 µl volume and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples, supporting studies of adult hippocampal neurogenesis, neuronal migration, and the differentiation of neural progenitor cells.

Researchers commonly apply this reagent to formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded brain tissue to identify newly generated neurons in the dentate gyrus and subventricular zone, and to western blots of neural cell lysates to confirm differentiation status in stem-cell derived cultures. Because endogenous DCX expression is transient and largely restricted to neuroblasts, the antibody is also a useful marker for lineage-tracing experiments in regenerative neuroscience and in tumor models in which aberrant neuronal lineage markers are being characterized.
