Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl vial, this Antibodies.com Primary Antibody targets dynactin subunit 2 (DCTN2), the 50 kDa component of the dynactin complex — also known as p50 dynamitin — that tethers cytoplasmic dynein to vesicular and organelle cargo during microtubule-based intracellular transport. Validated for western blot analysis, immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections, and immunofluorescence on cultured cells, the reagent shows documented reactivity against Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, a species panel suited to comparative work in cell biology, neurobiology, and cancer research models. Laboratories studying mitotic spindle assembly, kinetochore–microtubule attachment, retrograde axonal transport, and Golgi or endosomal positioning use this reagent to monitor endogenous DCTN2 levels, track dynactin redistribution through the cell cycle, and characterise loss-of-function phenotypes following RNAi or CRISPR disruption of dynein pathway components. The polyclonal format recognises multiple epitopes along the DCTN2 sequence, which is advantageous when probing proteolytic cleavage events or post-translational modifications that may occlude a single monoclonal binding site. Store the vial refrigerated at 4°C for short-term use, or aliquot and freeze at -20°C for long-term storage; protect from light during fluorescent secondary detection workflows and minimise freeze-thaw cycling to preserve antibody activity. Each lot ships with the standard Antibodies.com technical datasheet detailing recommended working dilutions, antigen retrieval conditions for IHC, and example immunoblots, so the reagent drops readily into established laboratory protocols.
