Dynactin subunit 1, the largest component of the cytoplasmic dynein motor complex that powers microtubule-based retrograde transport, is the target of this rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com. The DCTN1 gene product is essential for organelle movement, mitotic spindle organization, and neuronal cargo trafficking, and mutations in DCTN1 have been linked to Perry syndrome, ALS spectrum disorders, and distal hereditary motor neuropathies.
Validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry, this unconjugated reagent recognizes endogenous DCTN1 in human, mouse, and rat samples. Each vial contains 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, sufficient for multiple blotting and staining experiments. Researchers use it to study axonal transport defects, microtubule motor function, and the molecular pathology of motor neuron disease. For best stability, store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. Intended for research use only.
