DCT (Dopachrome Tautomerase, also called TRP-2) is an enzyme within the tyrosinase-related family that catalyzes a late step in melanin biosynthesis, and this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the human target for pigmentation and melanoma research. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum, ready for downstream conjugation to HRP, biotin, or fluorescent reporters as the experimental design demands. It has been validated for Western blot analysis of cell and tissue lysates, and for immunofluorescence localization on cultured cells and cryosections prepared from human or mouse specimens. Melanocyte cultures, melanoma cell lines, and pigmented epithelial tissue are the most common sample types encountered with this reagent. Store refrigerated at 4 °C for routine use, and aliquot before freezing at -20 °C or colder for long-term retention, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage on DCT than a monoclonal clone, which can be useful when probing denatured protein on membranes.
