Raised in rabbit against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residue K662 of human Daxx, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the death domain-associated protein in denaturing western blot and fixed-section immunohistochemistry workflows. The unconjugated IgG preparation is supplied at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide as a microbial preservative, with a working pH near 7.2. Each vial contains 100 µl of stock, enough to support many blotting runs and a long series of slide stains once titrated. Cross-reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples, so laboratories studying Daxx biology across the standard mammalian model systems can rely on a single reagent. Daxx itself is best known as a nuclear regulator tied to Fas-induced apoptosis, transcriptional repression, and residence in PML nuclear bodies, and antibodies that map to its C-terminal half are widely used to track full-length protein in chromatin and stress-response studies. The unconjugated format keeps the chemistry flexible, allowing labs to pair the reagent with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies depending on whether a chemiluminescent western blot, an alkaline-phosphatase IHC chromogen, or a multiplex immunofluorescence read-out is the goal. To extend reagent life, aliquot on first thaw and refreeze promptly to limit freeze-thaw exposure of the IgG fraction.
