DAP5 (Death-Associated Protein 5), also known as EIF4G2 or p97, is a cytoplasmic translational regulator involved in cap-independent protein synthesis and stress-responsive signaling. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µL of antiserum and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. As an alternative initiation factor that lacks eIF4E binding, DAP5 supports translation of specific mRNAs linked to apoptosis regulation, including XIAP and Bcl-2 family transcripts.

The antibody recognizes endogenous human DAP5 and is suited for probing expression, isoform variation, and subcellular distribution in cultured mammalian cells and tissue sections. Polyclonal reagents of this type offer broader epitope coverage, which is helpful when surveying truncated or post-translationally modified forms of the target. Provided unconjugated, the reagent can be paired with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent immunoblotting, with biotin-streptavidin systems for IHC, or with fluorophore-labeled secondaries for immunofluorescence imaging.

For day-to-day handling, the antibody should be kept refrigerated and protected from light, with small working aliquots prepared to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the stock. Researchers apply the reagent at dilutions optimized for their specific lysate preparation or fixation method, and a titration series is recommended when adapting it to a new sample type or detection platform.
