The Anti-CMV-IE1 monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is a mouse-derived IgG2a(k) reagent engineered for the detection of the cytomegalovirus Immediate-Early 1 (IE1) protein, a 72 kDa transcriptional activator expressed within the first hours of viral gene expression. Supplied as a Protein G purified monoclonal in unconjugated format at 500 ug per vial, it is optimized for Western blot and immunofluorescence assay workflows where researchers study HCMV lytic cycle activation, viral reactivation in latency models, or screen for productive infection in cultured cells.

Because IE1 accumulates in the nucleus of infected cells shortly after viral entry, this reagent is widely applied in virology laboratories investigating the molecular switch from latency to lytic replication, validating CRISPR or siRNA knockdowns of viral transactivators, and probing clinical isolates for replication competence. The unconjugated format offers flexibility for downstream labeling with HRP, fluorophores, or biotin depending on the assay platform chosen.

Recommended refrigerated storage at 4 degrees C preserves antibody activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles, and the IgG2a(k) isotype is compatible with standard anti-mouse secondary reagents used in both chromogenic and fluorescence detection systems. For research use only in vitro applications.
