Anti-Cytokeratin 5 Antibody

Supplied by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antiserum is raised against Cytokeratin 5 (KRT5), a 58 kDa type II cytoskeletal keratin widely used as a marker of basal epithelial cells and myoepithelial cells. The antibody was generated against a synthesized peptide derived from the C-terminal region of human Cytokeratin 5 and was subsequently affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using the epitope-specific immunogen, yielding an IgG isotype reagent supplied in an unconjugated, liquid format at 1 mg/mL. It is provided in a 50 µl volume, formulated in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative, and it detects endogenous levels of Cytokeratin 5 in samples derived from human, mouse and rat origin. Validated applications include Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) and ELISA, making the reagent suitable for a broad range of cell biology, histology and biomarker studies. For handling, the vial is shipped at 4 °C; upon receipt it should be aliquoted and stored at -20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve antibody activity.
