Anti-Cytokeratin 20 Antibody

The recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets Cytokeratin 20 (KRT20), a type I intermediate filament protein selectively expressed in gastrointestinal epithelium, urothelium, and Merkel cells. Supplied as an unconjugated antibody in a 100 µl vial, the formulation combines TBS (pH 7.4), 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide to stabilize the recombinant clone during refrigerated storage.

In diagnostic immunohistochemistry, KRT20 staining helps distinguish colorectal and urothelial carcinomas from lung, breast, or ovarian primaries, and confirms Merkel cell carcinoma in skin biopsies. Combining CK20 and CK7 expression patterns is a standard approach for assigning tissue of origin in metastatic adenocarcinoma of unknown primary. Validated uses include Western blot, immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded IHC, immunoprecipitation, and flow cytometry. Reactivity has been confirmed against human and rat samples.
