Anti-Cytokeratin 18 Antibody [C87-1]

The C87-1 clone, raised against human cytokeratin 18 (KRT18), recognizes an epitope within the head domain of the type I intermediate filament protein (~45 kDa) and is widely used to profile epithelial differentiation in normal and neoplastic tissues. Supplied by Antibodies.com as a liquid mouse IgG2a monoclonal, it supports western blot detection of full-length CK18, immunocytochemistry on cultured epithelial lines, and immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections, with reactivity confirmed in mouse, rat, and human samples.

Beyond general epithelial staining, the antibody serves as a companion reagent to cleavage-specific markers such as M30 in caspase-mediated apoptosis assays, helping researchers distinguish intact cytokeratin 18 from caspase-generated fragments released during programmed cell death.
