Cytokeratin 18 (KRT18) is a type I intermediate filament protein expressed in simple and glandular epithelia, where it pairs with cytokeratin 8 to form the cytoskeletal scaffold of hepatocytes, intestinal epithelial cells, and many carcinoma-derived cell lines. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 50 µL aliquot of purified immunoglobulin in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer at pH 7.4, with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, ready to dilute directly into standard blocking or incubation solutions.

Selected for reactivity with human and monkey cytokeratin 18, the antibody serves as a practical epithelial marker for cross-species work in primate-derived cell models and for distinguishing epithelial tumor lines from mesenchymal or lymphoid backgrounds in mixed culture. Its unconjugated format leaves detection chemistry entirely to the user, so it pairs cleanly with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents in chemiluminescent Western blot, fluorescence immunocytochemistry, and standard immunofluorescence imaging workflows.

The 50% glycerol buffer protects the immunoglobulin through routine freeze-thaw handling; aliquot on first use and store at -20 °C to preserve binding activity across many experiments.
