Cytokeratin 17 (KRT17) is a type I intermediate filament protein expressed in epithelial basal cells, myoepithelial layers, and appendageal structures such as hair follicles and nail beds. This recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com binds human, mouse, and rat KRT17 and is widely used in dermatopathology and tumor biology research as a marker for basaloid proliferations, where it aids the distinction between basal cell carcinoma and trichoepithelioma and supports characterization of squamous cell carcinoma, pachyonychia congenita lesions, and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Validation covers Western blot, immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections, and flow cytometry, making the antibody useful across cell-based, tissue-based, and suspension-based workflows. Reactivity has been confirmed for Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting translational studies and rodent model work without the need for separate species-specific reagents.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a glycerol-stabilized liquid in TBS buffer at pH 7.4, with 1% BSA and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. For routine use, store refrigerated at 4 °C; for longer retention, aliquot and freeze, and protect from light to limit freeze-thaw damage.
