Cytokeratin 13 (KRT13) is a type I intermediate filament protein expressed in the differentiated suprabasal layers of non-keratinizing stratified squamous epithelia. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com enables detection of the target in human tissue via Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.
KRT13 serves as a differentiation marker in studies of oral mucosa, esophageal epithelium, and cervical or vaginal tissue. Documented loss of KRT13 expression is associated with oral squamous cell carcinoma progression, supporting research use in tumor biology, dysplasia grading, and epithelial differentiation pathways. The 100 µL format suits laboratories running multiple blot and staining experiments on squamous epithelial samples.
