Anti-CYP4F2 (M66) Antibody

Raised in rabbit against a peptide mapping within the human CYP4F2 cytochrome P450 enzyme, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 50 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.2) with 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative. CYP4F2 is a hepatic microsomal monooxygenase best known for omega-hydroxylating phylloquinone (vitamin K1) to ω-hydroxyvitamin K1, and it also acts on arachidonic acid, leukotriene B4, and related eicosanoids. The V433M coding variant, encoded by the rs2108622 C>T SNP, is the most-studied pharmacogenetic change in this gene and is linked to higher hepatic vitamin K1 levels and altered warfarin dose requirements, making the protein a frequent target in drug-response and vitamin K pathway research.

The antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples. For western blot, whole-cell or tissue lysates from liver or kidney — the two tissues with the highest CYP4F2 expression — are the most informative starting material. For IHC, citrate-based antigen retrieval at pH 6 followed by detection with an HRP or fluorescence secondary typically produces cytoplasmic staining in hepatocytes and proximal renal tubule cells, consistent with the microsomal localization of the enzyme. Aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycling, and store the vial at -20 °C in working aliquots for long-term stability.
