The CYP4A11 polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit host, unconjugated primary reagent validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse samples. CYP4A11 is a microsomal cytochrome P450 monooxygenase most abundant in liver and kidney cortex, where it catalyzes omega-hydroxylation of medium-chain fatty acids such as lauric acid and converts arachidonic acid into 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid, a vasoactive eicosanoid linked to vascular tone and renal sodium handling. Investigators have applied anti-CYP4A11 antibodies to compare enzyme expression in rodent models of hypertension, non-alcoholic fatty liver, and xenobiotic stress, and to differentiate CYP4A11 from the closely related CYP4A22 isoform in hepatic microsome preparations. The product ships as a 100 µl liquid aliquot with no fluorophore or enzyme label, giving users flexibility over secondary detection chemistry. For best long-term stability, store at -20°C; for routine use, keep working aliquots refrigerated at 4°C and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve titre. On Western blot, 20-40 µg of total liver or kidney lysate per lane typically yields a band near 59 kDa, while immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin sections is improved by citrate-based antigen retrieval to expose the epitope in renal tubules and hepatocytes.
