CYP3A7 is a fetal-expressed cytochrome P450 enzyme predominantly active in developing liver tissue, where it metabolizes endogenous steroids such as DHEA and contributes to xenobiotic clearance during gestation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the CYP3A7 protein for western blot analysis across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting developmental biology, pharmacology, and hepatic differentiation studies. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. Polyclonal reactivity broadens epitope coverage, which is useful when probing low-abundance targets or distinguishing CYP3A7 from the closely related CYP3A4 isoform that dominates adult hepatic metabolism. Researchers studying neonatal drug disposition, hepatocellular carcinoma biomarkers, or fetal liver gene regulation can apply this reagent to whole-cell lysates and tissue extracts under standard SDS-PAGE and transfer conditions. Sodium azide in the buffer provides antimicrobial protection for repeated benchtop use; for downstream applications sensitive to azide, brief dialysis or spin-column exchange into azide-free buffer is recommended prior to conjugation or live-cell work. Keep refrigerated and protect from light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity over the stated shelf life.
