CYP2E1 (Cytochrome P450 Family 2 Subfamily E Member 1) is a membrane-associated heme-thiolate monooxygenase concentrated in hepatic microsomes, where it drives phase I biotransformation of small lipophilic substrates such as ethanol, acetone, benzene, and NAPQI, the reactive hepatotoxic metabolite of acetaminophen. Research groups studying alcohol-induced liver injury, chemical toxicology, and xenobiotic clearance rely on robust detection of this enzyme across tissues and model systems.
This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum. It has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows and detects CYP2E1 in human, mouse, and rat samples. Store at -20 °C; aliquot upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light when handling this conjugate-free format.
