The CYP2C18 enzyme is a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that contributes to phase I drug metabolism in the liver, where it oxidizes a range of xenobiotic substrates including tolbutamide and several non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against CYP2C18 and validated by Antibodies.com for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on mouse and rat tissue samples. The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, packaged as a 100 µl vial that supports multiple immunostaining or blotting experiments. Researchers commonly use it to probe hepatic microsomal fractions, where the CYP2C18 polypeptide migrates near 56 kDa on SDS-PAGE, and to localize enzyme expression in fixed tissue sections by immunohistochemistry. Storage at -20 °C in small aliquots helps preserve binding activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the glycerol formulation keeps the reagent liquid and pipettable when kept cold at the bench.
