CYP1B1 is a heme-thiolate monooxygenase of the cytochrome P450 superfamily that catalyzes the 4-hydroxylation of 17β-estradiol and the metabolic activation of several procarcinogens, and it is the gene most frequently mutated in primary congenital glaucoma. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, allowing storage at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage during repeated use.
The reagent was raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot and immunocytochemistry, with reactivity confirmed against Human, Mouse, and Rat CYP1B1, making it useful for comparing endogenous expression across species in ocular, hepatic, mammary, and tumor tissue models. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary reagents of the user's choice, and the polyclonal format is well suited to detecting the full-length ~61 kDa enzyme as well as splice and degradation products on immunoblots.
