Anti-CYP11A1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes cytochrome P450 family 11 subfamily A member 1 (CYP11A1), the mitochondrial cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme that catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step in steroid hormone biosynthesis. CYP11A1 localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane in steroidogenic tissues such as the adrenal cortex, testis, ovary, and placenta, where it converts cholesterol to pregnenolone, the immediate precursor of cortisol, aldosterone, and sex steroids.
