This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against cytochrome b5 type A (CYB5A), a membrane-anchored hemoprotein that transfers electrons to cytochrome P450 enzymes and supports fatty-acid desaturation, elongation, and cholesterol biosynthesis.
Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated immunoglobulin, the antibody is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on samples from human, mouse, and rat.
CYB5A is highly expressed in liver and adipose tissue, where it contributes to steroid and drug metabolism, and the antibody is used to investigate lipid biosynthesis, hepatic cytochrome P450 activity, and inherited methemoglobinemia type 4 caused by loss-of-function CYB5A variants.
