Anti-CUTA Antibody

CUTA, the cutA divalent cation tolerance homolog (also called ACHAP and C6orf82), is a small conserved membrane-associated protein that supports cellular copper homeostasis and traffics through the secretory pathway. From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent targets endogenous CUTA in human, mouse, and rat samples and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody in a vial. Western blot analysis with this reagent resolves the two endogenous CUTA species reported in fractionated HEK293 lysates: the ~20 kDa membrane-integrated isoform 1 and the ~13 kDa cytosolic isoforms that arise from internal translation initiation at M43 or M63. The antibody supports studies of copper sensitivity, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) membrane anchoring at the synapse, BACE1 trafficking through the Golgi/TGN, and the suppression of amyloidogenic APP processing to A-beta, including work in prion and Alzheimer disease model systems. For Western blot, dilute according to lot-specific validation, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store refrigerated; short-term storage at 4 °C is acceptable while long-term storage at -20 °C preserves activity.
