A rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targeting Cullin 2 (CUL2), the scaffold subunit of the CRL2 cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. Raised against full-length CUL2 and supplied as 100 µl of liquid antiserum stored at -20 °C, this unconjugated primary antibody is validated for Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) on human and mouse samples.

In Western blot, the antibody detects an endogenous band migrating near 87 kDa, consistent with the full-length Cullin 2 isoform. CUL2 partners with the von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) tumor suppressor alongside elongin B and elongin C to assemble an active E3 ligase that polyubiquitinates hydroxylated HIF-1α under normoxic oxygen conditions, anchoring the scaffold at the core of hypoxia signaling and oxygen sensing. The same CRL2 platform is co-opted by viral proteins and by the germline-specific substrate adaptor ZYG11, linking CUL2 to cell cycle regulation, DNA damage response, and germline development.

Researchers studying VHL-associated clear cell renal cell carcinoma, HIF pathway biology, or proteasome pharmacology routinely use this reagent to probe CRL2 complex composition and to track changes in Cullin 2 abundance following proteasomal inhibition or hypoxic stress. Aliquot upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and store at -20 °C in buffer suitable for downstream immunoassays.
